Asha Makata

Asha Ahmed Makata was born on 7th April 1997, in Tanzania, Dar es salaam. From a young age, she showed a keen interest in science and healthcare, which led her to pursue a career in the medical field. After completing high school, she enrolled in a three-year associate Diploma program in pharmacy technology at Paradigms Health institute in Dar es salaam.

Upon graduating in 2021, Asha obtained her certification as a pharmacy technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Council (PC) as a licensed Pharmaceutical Technician. She started her career at a government hospital pharmacy, Tumbi Regional Referral Hospital. Where she quickly gained hands-on experience in medication preparation, customer service, and inventory management.

Asha’s dedication and expertise led her to a position at Tumbi Regional Referral Hospital as a volunteer, where she worked in the hospital pharmacy and a retailed (community) pharmacy. In this role, she was responsible for preparing intravenous medications, compounding medications, and ensuring accurate medication distribution within the hospital. Her attention to detail and ability to work under pressure made her an invaluable member of the healthcare team.

Outside of work, Asha is passionate about community service and volunteers at local health clinics, providing free medication counseling and education to underserved populations. She also enjoys swimming, reading, and spending time with her family.
